He moved to another church. He was at hers/our church for three years, as required, to get a missionary license. Nice guy but he never planned on staying, which you could tell from his lack of passion.

Ya, the AoG makes all missionaries perform at least three years in a regular home church environment before being sent. I can understand the thought process behind that but it also subjects a lot of churches to men who know they are just using it as a stepping stone.

...and that right there is the problem. A pastor should be passionate for the flock under his care, whether it's just for a short period or as a missionary somewhere else.
I think the thought process by the AoG is actually scriptural.
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
I think the principle should apply to any post in the church. But as the case of the old pastor was, only God truly knows the hearts of these "pastors"

So, did he ever get that missionary position?

Oooooh, I almost started typing something else in but thought I better keep it clean.
As far as I know.... I have no idea. He went off of everyone's radar soon after leaving. I am sure there are some who know but we haven't gone to that church is nearly 5 years now. If you really want to know I suppose I could make some phone calls and do some searches.

Hehehe. That was intentional, btw.

Didn't really care. Just wanted someone to spew coffee.

Hmmm, even Muslims put more emphasis on the marriage bed .
Islam forbids husbands from engaging themselves in matters of physical worship and devotions, like prayers and fasting, in a way that may detract them from attending to their spouses physical, sexual and social needs. [Bukhari #1867 ]

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter

"If we only knew what the Muslims knew!"
Barry (our old pastor) taught against any sexual relations on Sunday, or Saturday (because it was the night before Sunday) and any other day that services were held on. One young lady who had just gotten married a few months prior was talking to my wife about her internal torment for going against the pastors wishes when she and her husband got to "fooling around" one Sunday afternoon. She was actually feeling extreme guilt over having sex with her husband!
The flip side of his teaching was that sex's only purpose was for procreation. "Large families used to be the norm in the world and they still should be in the church!" This is the part were SisFalla usually gets peeved at me.
