Re: Christianity is based on substitutionary atone

Imo, this misrepresents atonement, ignoring that I may see the error of my ways and change my mind, and act differently in the future; which Grace allows for. Although it might be abused in an attempt to "escape responsibility," I think that God will not be mocked in this way, do you?

Also, I did not have an innocent suffer for me, as your post suggests. Christ willingly sacrificed Himself, despite the fact that I did not deserve it. And where have I taken the line that someone else should pay my dues? As if. No one escapes the consequences of their actions, whether they accept forgiveness or not.

Why make Christ's sacrifice of no effect? Only so that I may continue the illusion that I am God?

Talking to Gnostic is like talking to a wall.

Re: Christianity is based on substitutionary atone

Well, but that is equally unfair and dismissive, imo. I am willing to overlook some angst against established religion, which would have millions of Christians accepting Christ with their mouth, then waiting to die to get to heaven. Gag. Any new truth initially sounds outrageous, yeh? I have lost all desire to 'win' conversations; or 'convert' people...or be offended. Lol. While I'm not detecting an excess of 'love your neighbor' at the moment, this is, after all, a forum, wherein some contention is expected, and even desired, imo.
