The Eleventh Hour
Quote:
20..“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2..He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3..“About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4..He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5..So they went.
“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6..About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
7..“‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.
“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’
8..“When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9..“The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10..So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11..When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. 12..‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’
13..“But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14..Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15..Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
16..“So the last will be first, and the first will be last."

So a man lives like the devil most of his life. He gets cancer and pines away. He has a week to live. He sees how he wasted his life. He's going downhill fast. He's hooked up to machines, he can't get out of bed. He calls for his brother who is a good Christian. He asks if he has a chance to be saved this late in the game.
You're the brother. In light of this parable, what do you say to your dying brother?

I don't know Deacon. How about ..... Eph 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" I know for some that would be too simple.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
Pray and believe God will raise him up. If he is one of Gods elect he will. Then he can be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
Kinda like the two rednecks out hunting. One gets bit on the backside by a rattlesnake. His friend quickly dials 911 and asks what to do saying his friend had gotten bitterness by a snake . The dispatcher quickly checks and replied..." make a small incision in the wound and suck the poison out."
The man walks back to his friend who asks ... "what dey say? " The man looks at his hurt friend and replied ... "dey said yur gonna die! "

No I am a Jesus Freak.
John 6:43-44
43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. 44No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
If the Father draws on a death bed he will make sure they can obey the gospel.
By the way let us witness to friends and family NOW.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
What many of us do not realize is that God knows everything we ever said or even thought. He sees the heart. We do not.
He promises us salvation if we repent. If the dying brother repents and believes on his deathbed, would it be any different than the thief on the cross? Jesus saw that man's heart.
