2012 Will Be a Referendum on President Obama

Based on past elections where one candidate was the incumbent president, the data shows that the election is not about choosing one candidate over the other, rather past history points to people voting based on whether voters believe the sitting president is performing well or not. Currently Obama's approval rating is in the mid 40s. Among undecided voters he is rating in the 20s. Unless Obama can turn those numbers around, November doesn't bode well for the incumbent.

It sure doesn't.

Bush Sr lost because of the economy.

If the economy is stronger, then the President will be alright. Despite how I hope nothing but good things for my country, I was told in a discsussion the other day that over the next 7 to 8 months, we are going to see many more home foreclosures as many loan modification requests are simply being denied and the banks are finally foreclosing on the folks who have been living in their homes for 2 even 3 years in their homes without making any payments.

Were you in a discussion with someone in the banking or real estate industry?

Banking.
He mentioned Bank of America by name, but I don't remember if he is actually employed by them or not.
