When I got in Church God delt with me on some of the music I listened to .I believe Music can influence us.[ I know it does me .it may not you].Anyway I know there is music I just do not listen to.I used to listen to Jimmy Buffet but and had the lifestyle to match.I was wondering How others felt about Musics influence,and what kind of music you listen to other than Christian [ I love Christian music but that is not the only music I listen to.]

I think its whatever you feel comfortable or convicted with.
I listen to christian, period. I used to listen to christian and country. Before that I listened to everything but christian.
Thing is , I don't ever remember a decisive break or conviction to stop listening to other music. Seems like I just slowly grew less fond of it. I didnt tell myself "you shouldnt be listening to that" , I just simply found myself wanting to listen to christian.

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter
I am straight up 80's hair metal and some metal not all metal.Am not affraid to say it some of the best guitar playing come for this time frame and it does not influence me. I am married love my wife and kids do not drink smoke or cuss your spirit has to be stronger than your flesh or you will fail everytime. If a song comes on and I do not like the lyrics I just turn it. Like right now I am listing to Killswitch Engage guitar player is awsome plus the lead singer is good to I do not care for some of there songs but some I like.

Yeah, I knew what she was saying, I was just being a little TIC with her. There are times when I do have to turn the sports radio off, but to be honest, the black gospel station here in Houston grieves me just as much with some of what they do and play. I figure as vices go, sports is not one of the more serious ones to have to contend with
