For any nurse types... question

H1 or anyone who has any ideas... I could use them desperately right now!

Havent done a thing different.. if anything ate a lot less than normal...

Last night I had 1 chicken strip and about 2 oz of salad and vinegarette (sp) dressing and been drinking so much water our supply in Dallas must be running low and no soda's nothing at all with salt for weeks really except a teeeny bite of my sons ham sandwich not even enough to taste anything but bread...

Woke up this morning with cantelopes instead of feet!!!! They will not go down no matter what I do... feet have been highly elevated all day... blood pressure has been perfect for months (yes I have checked it today it was 116/68.

Any Ideas on what may be causing this? And how to remedy it?!

This is one thing that I have been thinking... I know it is possible if you over eat on the salt... my thoughts are... if it is just a general imbalance of salt vs. water that causes this... could it be I am drinking so much water I need to add some salt? I know that sounds weird I am just trying to come up with anything at this point! Its horrible!

I cant even hardly walk and I am freaking.... I did good all day not worrying about it but the worse it gets the more I freak!

I don't think salt is your answer.

Have you changed meds lately?

If it were your legs too I'd be concerned about blood clots - but, just your feet swelling that's weird.

Swollen Ankles and/or Swollen FeetSymptoms & Signs Index
Swelling of the feet and ankles can occur as a result of conditions involving the local extremities as well as systemic conditions (diseases and conditions that affect the entire body). Systemic diseases and conditions associated with foot and ankle swelling are characterized by fluid retention, or less commonly by an increase in thickness of the skin. Diseases of the joints, such as arthritis, can also affect the joints of the ankle and foot, leading to swelling of the involved areas.

Causes of Swollen Ankles and/or Swollen Feet
Arthritis
Cellulitis
Cirrhosis Of The Liver
Congestive Heart Failure
Deep Vein Thrombosis
Fracture
Gout
Kidney Failure
Pregnancy (Stages of Pregnancy)
Pseudogout
Rheumatoid Arthritis
