God is so worthy of our praise!!
Hello everyone,
Remember two years ago when I was giving you almost daily updates on Walt's progress after his aneurism ruptured?
Well, today we went back to see Dr. Schwann, the doctor who did his surgery. I just have to share with you his report.
He came into the room, grinning and shaking our hands. Then he told us that he had just finished looking at the CD they made of Walt's latest CT Scan and reading the report on it. He was very pleased to be able to say to us that there has been absolutely NO change in the dissection over the last two years. NONE!
And because of that, he does not believe that we have any worries about any part of the dissection ever weakening and buldging out and forming an aneurism. He truly believes that that will never happen. In fact, he told us to "put it out of our minds". He then told us that he probably doesn't ever need to have Walt come back in to see him again. We must have looked a little panicked at that point, because he backed off a little then and told us that we can come one more time next year. After that, he won't need to see Walt again.
He also told Walt that as of now, there are no restrictions on his activities. He can do whatever he feels like he can tolerate. I asked specifically about things like mowing grass and shoveling snow and he said that both are fine.
As we sat there listening to this, I just kept thinking back to how when Dr. Schwann came out during the surgery and told us that Walt was alive at that point, but he couldn't guarantee that he would live long enough to go up to the ICU on that first night, the thought that kept me going then was, "My God doesn't start something that He doesn't plan to finish". Once again, we are seeing evidence that God is continuing to work in Walt. I don't believe that He is finished even yet. Whether He will finish the work by completely healing the dissection or whether He will finish the work by allowing Walt to be here with us for as long as He chooses to leave Him here and then finishes the work by taking him home to Heaven in the end, I don't know which will be His choice. I just know that God has a plan. And that His plan is always for our best. So I trust Him. And I give Him thanks and praise for every single day that He continues to give us together as a family. God is good and worthy to be praised!

Pro, the fact that he can now mow the grass is a HUGE thing! HUGE, HUGE!
This man survived a RUPTURED aortic aneurism. That soooooooooooooo rarely ever happens! God has been good to us and I want to give Him all of the honor and glory and praise that He so deserves. But I could worship Him all day and all night every day and ever night and still not give Him the praise and honor He deserves. None of us can.
