my friends
A certain person asked me how I chose my friends since they must have judged me a paradox..
MY answer to them:
Love is an endless mystery for it has nothing to explain. Tagore

yesterday I was in a market and met an UC and we stood talking about God a long time...someone patted me on the shoulder and if was a young woman in shorts...Praise the Lord dear missionary she said...and I stood talking to her a long time and she asked me to come and preach at their church..I have been and preached but it has been a few years back...
After both were gone my daughter in law said to me, "Mom, how do you know how to do it?"
DO what I said. She said, You see Jesus in almost everyone...
That is my secret I told her...I look for Him...in everybody...

...and tonight I saw Him in over 200 people in a little village where we had service in a vacant lot with two light bulbs and the car lights. It is after midnight here...21 people are visiting us from another state. We just got in from a beautiful meeting.
The village was so poor I could never describe it to you unless you have been to these type villages...They had leveled a pile of dirt for a platform. Neighbors brought their chairs. Some brought chairs on the old church bus….others stood. No one seemed to mind either way.
They had a special place for me to sit...I would have rather hid in the crowd but they would not let me. I wept for joy as they sang about giving our offerings to the Lord.
I looked at them they were so poor and thought, " they don´t have material things but if they only knew how the angles must feel cheated for I doubt if they even worship with such fervor..."
On and on they sang the beautiful songs of zion...they had no guitars, no keyboards ...they had an old disk player and sang by playbacks...
Yet, He that was rich became poor for our sakes.
I sat there feeling sorry for Broher Alvear in the padded pew churches in the states. I love the mission field.
They had cooked for us. I really don´t know what all I ate but I was hungry and it tasted good. They served my plate first. What an honor to serve beside some of God´s most noble people...His little ones in Brazil!

When the Israelites were attacked by the Amalekites, Moses and Aaron were too old to fight but as the younger men fought they prayed and every time they did so the Israelites advanced.
Sometimes I am not always able to fight (most time any more) but I pray for a host of young leaders that are leading us on in...and advancing we are here in Brazil.
Thank you dear friends from where ever you are camped...for your love and support for missions.

I rejoice with you Sis. Alvear and pray that God will bring you young men and women to help further his name in Brazil.
