Old Friends

I have been praying for and searching for some old friends for quite some time.Its amazing that this past month I am running across them.
How about you? Is the Lord opening doors for you to be a witness?

I have one old friend from the UPC church when I lived in Pontiac who I would like to make contact with again. She lives in California now.

Unfortunately, way back years ago when Walt and I first got married and I let her know that I would be attending church with him (even tho I was not changing what I believe!!), she wrote me off. She apparently decided that if I wasn't going to stay "in the fold" then she didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore (and pretty much told me that).

My hope is that the years have mellowed her and taught her - as it has many of us. At one point we were 'best friends'. And I do miss her friendship.

I found some old school friends on classmates.com, when they find out I'm a born again Christian i don't hear from them anymore.

That is a shame because my friends have not run the other way.I was a very popular person in high school and college.I was head cheerleader and ran cross country plus the vice president of my class in High School.In Nursing school my instructor made me class
chaplain and I even got to attend and be a speaker at some public community events including the 40th Anniversary Celebration for LPN's in Louisiana held at a Hotel ballroom
in Lafayette,La.People just like me what can I say.I work with a very hard part of the population now because I am a corrections nurse but I can tell you that before its over they are calling me by my first name and asking where I go to church.One lady is doing
awesome and sitting on the front pew cheering on Pastor Kinsey.I am super proud of her
for hanging in there while Jesus helps her work things out.He can and He will.We just cannot be God.We can offer the humanity of Jesus to others just not the judgeship.
I cannot say that people run from me.Acutally they run to me.My husband made comment that where ever we are people just open up and talk to me.I see it as a gift from God.I love people pure and simple.I don't start telling them what I am and what I believe until they know how wonderful my life has become and what a depth Jesus has brought into it.I feel that if He could bring me to the place He has and do what He has done for me.He can do it for anyone.Just a heads up.Successful people need Jesus too.
