Re: The Next General Superintendant of the UPC Wil
Maybe they should look for the same sign as befell Fabianus when he was elected bishop of Rome:
[Year of Christ 236.] Fabianus, called by the Greeks Fahius, by Eutychius.6 and in the Chronicle of Alexandria, Flavianus,7was, according to Eusebius, miraculously chosen for successor to Anterus; for he tells us, " That the people and clergy beins assembled in order to proceed to a new election, a dove, unexpectedly appearing, settled, to the great surprise of all present, on the head of Fabi- anus, who was not so much as thought of, being but a layman, as appears from the account, and not an inhabitant of Rome, but just then come out of the country. At this prodigy the whole assembly cried out with one voice, 'Fabianus is our bishop;' and, crowding round him, placed him without further delay on the episcopal throne."—

I think it has to follow the example of Christ's baptism. A butterfly just won't do unless you want to be chief bottle washer.

The obvious canidates are;
Paul Mooney
David Bernard
Anthony Mangun
and of course Jerry Jones although I don't think he would get it.
The problem with UPC is that they have never looked for the David among them. They look to the Saul's and David is left in the pasture. Saul represents the political office as Israel called for a King. David represents the annointing as the Lord annointed David through Samuel.
David was more heart and thirsty, Saul was was concerned about looking presidential.
I look at the three names listed and a David is not among them.

This is not true. They have looked for the Urshan's, Gosses, Clanton's, Chamber's, and Haney's among them!

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
