Ha, amen...but there is supposed to be a way to change Win8 to a more user-friendly interface? More like XP? A call to your pc supplier should help you locate it; good luck.

Someone who is computer savvy, guided me thru a program to download some type Chrome Shell in order to make my computer work more like an xp. But frankly I can't tell much difference in how it looks or works. There's just too much on this computer that I don't need or use.

A bit late to the party, but you might consider Start 8. It's a program by Stardock, that removes the Metro screen and restores the Start menu. It's not free, and you can only buy it online (which I know some people have issues with), but for $5, it's not an expensive fix and will make things operate a little bit more like you're used to.

Re: Almost Computer Illerate
I just got a laptop with Win 8. Basically the Metro Screen is your 'programs' from the old Start Menu.
When you click on the browser you can swipe down from the top and visit a previous page or open a new tab
You can swipe from the bottom and see favorites and most vsited websites.
The facebook app isn't free. How lame. I wont pay.
Anyways. If you hit the windows key PLUS the letter D it will give you a desktop view. From there you can open Internet Explorer that looks like a familiar version and easier to use. You can bookmark a page there or open a new tab the usual
way.
Anyways the trick in Metro mode is to swipe the screen from top to bottom.
You can also put the mouse curser at the top and right click. The URL bar where you type the web address is at the bottem
Let me know if you have any problems

Sorry. I meant if you want the FB app from their app store. Im beginning to wonder if the reason they made Win8 was just to make more money on apps
