The main argument by UC and any other Christian is probably that there are way too many immodestly dressed (undressed) people there and the standards police don't want you to look upon their nakedness.
I can honestly say that I spend a lot of time at the beach every year. And, other than noticing a few who were really over the top (don't people have mirrors???!!!), I don't set my eyes on any of them. I have made a covenant with my eyes that I won't look on another woman to lust. I have an amazing, beautiful wife that I love and would never betray by committing adultery with my eyes.
The Pentecostals would rather legislate it as forbidden, rather than allow people to live in the grace of God and allow the Holy Ghost to speak to them of these things. And that's the whole point of these standards anyway. It really is, in a nut shell, a way to control people because they don't believe the Holy Ghost is powerful enough to convict people of true sins and direct them toward true holiness. God needs some help in this regard, so we'll just ban these things. I got close to being banned on another forum for saying this and not backing down from it. One brother over there actually started a new thread titled "What should be banned next?"... AND HE WAS DEAD SERIOUS!!! I just don't understand that mindset.

Thanks for explaining. I could not figure out what I was missing about beach walks. Now I have the reasoning behind the rule - although, frankly, still doesn't make much sense to me.
I always notice children on the beach because they are having such a great time and you hear them laughing and shrieking -- or they are crying because of a wave or whatever. But, I generally can't tell you about one adult on the beach other than my husband. They just don't catch my attention, unless, like you say they don't "have a mirror" and happen to walk right in front of me. I can always shut other people out when I get out in nature - even the evil beach. Thank God He gave me that ability.
