I know this made his healing process so much harder as his burden was made so much heavier by people who had posted without really thinking of the consequences or were just so cruel they didn't care.

so sorry for their loss...it's no wonder the Bible speaks so much about us bridling our tongues.

Re: Welcome Fellow Christians - Steve Pixler 8/17/
As I read this thread, I'm amazed how mean spirited one can become when they go down the road of compromise. Just plain hateful toward preachers and the things they once cherished. The poor little wimp couldn't take real preaching, now expects others to listen to him, what a jerk. He became so wishy-washy on doctrine and couldn't give a straight answer on salvation if his life depended upon it. To be pitied.

Not at all.
After the dust settled I visited the church about a year and a half later, just to see the saints, and he had me preach. Which was unexpected. So I think were good. Even if I strongly disagree with someone I'd leave quietly rather than cause church trouble.

Not sure who this is addressed to, but it seems a bit mean spirited. Just sayin

You're not idealistic, or if you are, the Apostle Paul was too:
1 Cor. 1:10 10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Thanks for posting this...tears were threatening while I read through that scripture. Satan's most powerful tools against the Church are internal divisions and strife. We are far less powerful in little splinters than we could be as a whole unified force. I wish Christians took these instructions and applied them as sternly and forcefully as they do others. It's amazing how dogmatic people can be about outward issues, and how lackadaisical they can be about applying scriptures like the one above.
Interestingly, many liberals are seemingly no more interested in being unified with their fellow [conservative] Christians than the UC's are with them. The superiority complexes on both sides are ridiculous, and here lately, it seems like it's actually worse on the liberal side. The attitude of, "I'm so much more liberated and enlightened than you, you ignorant, bound, narrow-minded conservative" is just as repugnant as any bad attitude from the conservative side.
I wish I really knew the solution.

People can be so unbelievably cruel. Unfortunately, I've found cruelty in myself several times in my life, and I had to repent of it. My greatest regrets in life have been from giving into a moment of anger or frustration and speaking cruel words. Our humanity can be such a terrible weapon and hindrance. Sometimes we are simply short sighted and it gets the best of us.

Haha!
Is this written towards SP or someone else?
Someone forgot to take the meds they were prescribing a couple days ago.

Who is "he?" SP? Are you actually calling him names?

My comments on this thread aren't disparaging against Brother Pixler.
In the past?
I never said anything disparaging in the past concerning Brother Pixler.
Now that we have gotten that out of the way...

No, I just meant that coming from a conservative POV, I assumed that would be your stance. You post conservatively. If I assumed/inferred incorrectly, I apologize.

Yes, nearly every Saturday morning, with pancakes, maple syrup and link sausage. Sometimes on Tuesdays, when my husband spends the day barbecuing (although I generally avoid the BBQ).
