Re: Onus of Miracles and Revival
Mark 16's signs do not prove anyone is in the kingdom. Read Matt 7:21-23. They can be sheep's clothing that wolves wear, while at the same time sheep do operate those feats.

"If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." ( 2 Tim 2:21)
We must seek God to die to self. We like to believe we are humble enough to be in a place where God can use us in these things, but we must become more humble still, so that there is absolutely no question that God will get the glory in all these. God is kinda funny about that. Just ask Moses ( Num 20:12).
"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence." ( 1 Cor 1:27-29).
God's "chosen vessels" are vessels prepared in such a way that God is glorified in all their words, their actions, their expressions, their thoughts, and the intentions of their hearts.
May we fast and pray to empty ourselves and become full of Christ- "less of me and more of Thee" ( Jn 3:30). May we fast and pray to receive the mind of Christ (Php 2:5), so that we make ourselves of no reputation, and become a servant in all things to him.
As we enter into this new year, I believe God is looking for these vessels through whom he can work. When we do these things, he'll begin to move and do his thing.

I think it is quit simple search your own heart, Jesus says these signs shall follow them that believe. If these signs are not present in your life check your beleif system. What do you believe in the simplicity of the work of the cross or in your own works.
God will not perform, just because you think he should. He meets the needs of his sheep.

Godsdrummer, I think the reason someone noted this is dangerous is because it seems you are saying that so long as these signs follow your life, your belief system is fine. I pointed out that these signs may be present in one's life, and one still not be in the Kingdom because Matthew 7 shows people with these signs and Jesus never knew them.

Ah Mike
We know that haveing the signs do not prove anything, What I am saying is just the opposite if we don't have the signs we may not have all that we think we have in God. We know if one is truly filled with the spirit of God they will bring forth the fruit of the spirit. Those that claim to be filled with his spirit because they have spoken in tongues and dress according to the standards of thier church, yet have not the true fruit of the spirit or love one for another are not in the kingdom of God either.
The point is these signs will follow them that have true beleif, but not for our own show only when God desires. We get too caught up in looking for signs just as they did in Christ day.

If I told you that if you tune up your car it will run better, and gave you a book concerning it, and you took a look at a few of the pictures and proceeded to take a sledge hammer to the engine, the glass, the body metal, and slashed the tires, would it be my fault or yours that the car doesn't run?
The brutal process and methods employed in many cases are crimes, serious crimes against God. These are His children, not just a car, and often they are beaten senseless and starved of good nutrition, and then we ask God to grant us more children!
God is not blind. He loves, and we need to also love his lambs.
Joh 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs
1Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
