Thank God for Miracles!
I just found out my niece was on their way back home to Co. when a SUV tried to hit them head on. Her husband was driving and both of her boys were asleep and she was too, when she heard him yell something and slam on the brakes. He managed to avoid being hit head on and then the driver tried to come after them again.
He husband got scared and took off and the guy turned around and went back the way he was going.
Shortly after that he started meeting fire trucks and ambulances and police cars.
He found out that the SUV hit a Hummer head on killing a family of four and himself. There was a huge ball of fire. The accident didn't kill the family but they could not get the doors open to be able to get out of the vehicle and people stopped to try and help them and couldn't get the doors to open.
I wonder if he was a terriorist since there was such a huge explosion.
A man driving a jeep witnessed him trying to hit my family and call 911. My nephew-in-law called the police this morning to report it and they told him others had already called and they took his information in case it was needed.
God is good in keeping His hands on our family when we pray. I had a feeling something was going to happen on her trip home, but didn't say anything to anyone. My sister had the same feeling and prayed.
I give glory to God for his keeping power. Hopefully, this will wake up my niece to go back to serving God.

Thank God we're ok!! Too bad, though, for that other family. Oh well, they probably weren't Christians anyway.

Wow! Sounds like he was just wanting to commit suicide and take someone out with him - - - so sad. The explosion was probably because he hit a Hummer.
Thank goodness your niece and family were okay.

That is not a very Christian way to look at it.
I pray they were.

I figure it was a suicide mission and/or terrorist act. Probably will really never know.
I don't know if the Hummer would cause there to be an explosion or not.
Very sad situation for all involved, that I do know.

It was sarcasm, my dear. Sarcasm.
In the world of theological theory, there is a Utopian ideal that we could possibly, as followers of Christ, become broken for the plight of others as much as or more than joyful for our good things.
For example, a man and his family are driving home and as they near their house, they see a plume of smoke rising from their neighborhood. Stricken with fear, they continue to their neighborhood, seeing the flames rising far above the housing line. As they enter their street, they discover that it's their next door neighbor.
Rather then being overcome with relief, they are overcome with heartache for the plight of their neighbor. Rather than thanking God for the miracle that it wasn't them, they are devastated for the condition of their neighbor.
So when I read, "We were saved by God from this maniac", I think, "Wonderful." But in the context of "We're alive, but poor them...they're dead", it becomes a very hollow, very empty miracle-rejoicing session. The end result here is, a family died. Regardless of who was or wasn't killed, someone was killed. What a horrible thing.

Well if it was YOUR family I think you too would be singing praises to God for keeping your family. That however, in no way indicates you wish evil on anyone else.

Re: Thank God for Miracles!
When I hear sirens, or see emergency vehicles going down the road. I pray for whatever and whoever they are going to. Or have in them.
