It's not. And a whole lotta people can get into trouble if you bring this up. You could call just about any larger Realtor in the area and they will know how to proceed.

He may be independant but he would answer to a "board" of some kind in your area. Again, not sure how it all works in the states. But here, we have a real estate board... they govern all of the licenced agents in that particular area.

I'd be finding the one in your area and walking in with the name of your lawyer. It may not be worth the trouble to push the issue as far as court.. but if there are damages they may be willing to settle out of court. I know most agents have no desire whatsoever to go to court, even if they feel they are in the right.

Damages such as, sold your own house and had to rent an apartment... lost the sale of your own house because you had to back out when this house didn't go through... etc.

Ok, we made our final trip to AZ before our big move.

We FOUND our home.

Made an offer.... and after dealing with another offer on the same place....(What are the odds in THIS market??), we got it!!

We are thrilled with this place! We BOTH liked it. It has a huge lot (1/2 acre). And is in a great location. In fact, there is a Kohls department store just 150-200 feet from our backyard (but it is COMPLETELY silent due to a 12 foot wall and the fact that there is very little traffic to begin with).

Well, okay, I have to admit....I'm happy for you, but I couldn't do it. I'm from the green part of Oregon, and like things GREEN....but hey, at least you won't have a lot of upkeep to worry about!
