So can we call them "Ferdian Slips" now?

Re: What do you HAVE to believe to be saved?
I was talking to a coC girl today, who when I asked about JESUS name baptism, she said that in the coC they "call on the name of the LORD" before baptism. She said, before baptism that coC people say, "I believe JESUS Christ is the Son of GOD" and after saying that they are baptized. Some coC people I know could say F/S/HG or "I baptize you into Christ" or a ton of other baptismal formulas. Does this matter?

Yes I believe it does matter... but I do not believe it is a technicality that God will cry FOUL! over, and invalidate their conversion.
PS did you know the verse most used by COC folks is Acts 2:38?

Yes, most of what I quoted to her she knew...
So how do I go about reaching someone like this?

The evidence. Show her what the early authorities say - the early church spoke the name of Jesus at the baptism. And they did not see this as less than the command of Christ in Matt. 28:19. They came to God in and through Jesus Christ.
Most of all don't belittle or discount her relationship with the Lord.

When I was in college, I taught a COC guy who lived in my dorm a bible study on Jesus name baptism. He then wanted to be baptized. When I went to baptize him, he made that statement "I believe that Jesus Christ..."
Since that time, I have researched it and found that most commentators tie this type of action to Paul's testimony in Acts 22.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?
