Question Once saved always saved

Which scriptures would you use to help someone understand why you don't believe in once saved always saved?

If the person was asking why you didn't think God's grace was enough for salvation, how would you respond?

Re: Once saved always saved

I would start with the fact that the Apostle Paul himself said, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." If the apostle to the gentiles recognized that he could become a castaway, so should you also recognize the same.

His grace certainly is enough, but that does not eradicate the need for obedience and repentance (and a lifestyle of such).

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

Re: Once saved always saved

Me thinks that OSAS is more of a myth than a reality. I know when I was growing up in the movement that we were taught against OSAS. I was told that 'x' church and 'x' church are OSAS or greasy grace and they are wrong. Well happens that I met several people from 'x' and 'x' churches and asked them. They were not OSAS. There are many that are lumped into that catagory cause they believe salvation is at repentance and not after three steps. Because of this many are called OSAS. I believe that most christians out there don't believe unconditional eternal security. I believe in eternal security, but not at the espense of living any way I want to. OSAS I believe in more a myth than fact or actuality

My husband gave his testimony to some Baptist friends of ours and during his testimony, he made the statement that he knew he wasn't saved when he was doing drugs and alcohol. They were totally shocked that he didn't think he was saved. We were shocked that they were shocked. He was totally attacked by our Baptist friends. They couldn't understand why he didn't think God's grace would have kept him saved during his time away from God.
