Sad country song.

Okay a few of my friends were hanging out yesterday, first time in a while some of us had seen each other. One of the guys has a great voice and has been doing solo "coffee shop" style gigs recently. As we were talking about his song line up we started talking about the sad country songs. (sad as in tears not sad/bad). My vote was for George Jones BED OF ROSES. What do you guys think??

Sometimes You Have To Fight To Be A Man I think it's by Johnny Cash

Not really a country guy but that one stuck out for me.

Re: Sad country song.

My wife was a big Vern Gosdin fan and I used to laugh when looking at his song titles as many of them were so stereotypical country. My favorite title was "Nobody calls from Vegas just to say hello". LOL!!!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Bikers staring at the cowboys who are laughing at the hippies praying that they get out of there alive. That's for everyone who are bearded and praying. Or, You never even call me by my name. That one is for all the YAHwists.

Re: Sad country song.

Do any of you know what happens when you play a country song backwards?

you feel happy instead of sad?

I was sittin on a barstool
In a bar-b-q joint in Tennessee
When this old boy walked in
And he sat right down next to me
I could tell he'd been through some hard times
There were tear stains on his old shirt
And he said do you wanna know what you get
When you play a country song backwards?

You get your house back
You get your dog back
You get your best friend jack back
You get your truck back
You get your hair back
You get your first and second wives back
Your front porch swing
Your pretty little thing
Your bling bling bling and your diamond ring
You get your farm and the barn and the boat and the harley
First night in jail with charlie
You get your mind back
Get your nerves back
Your first heart attack back
You get your pride back
You get your life back
You get your first real love back
You get your big screen TV, dvd and a washing machine
You get the pond and the lawn the bail and the mower
You go back to where you don't know her
It sounds a little crazy
A little scattered and absurd
But that's what you get when you play a country song backwards
