The Sacred Church Building

Is the "House Of God".....Church building more holy than the people who meet there? There are 168 hours in a week. How many hours during that week is the sacred TEMPLE available to the saints?

Is it LESS holy if the saints are using it when no Church meeting is going on? Is YAH resting in the temple when no one is there?

Jesus is everywhere in every place, all at once. But the scripture also say's "where there are 2 or 3 gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them." The passage is telling you about the power of the church, which is not just a building but a people, a assembly, His body.

Now, His church may meet in a building consecrated unto Him, meaning they've set it apart as a house unto Him. That doesn't mean this is the only place He is, or will manifest Himself unto you. But the scripture does say "don't forsake the assembling of yourself together." Because "where 2 or 3 are gathered in His name, there He is in the midst of them." Does this not mean He can manifest Himself unto you alone? Of course He can, He's everywhere; but He's said where the 2 or 3 are, He will manifest Himself.

Also in the assembly is where you get most of your word of knowledge, can you get it elsewhere? Absolutely, but it's guaranteed where the 2 or 3 are. You should always go toward the presence of God. If He has given you a promise that where the 2 or 3 are, there am I in the midst, then you should never forsake that. You never know what your going to miss out on.

Can God touch you somewhere else? Absolutely, but some days are special days where He has a touch of healing, and blessing for every one in the house. But, anyone not present misses out. The word church in the Bible is always referring to an assembly. Now, an assembly can meet anywhere, but not only must we have a personal walk, we need a corporate assembly fellowship also. We can't become balanced believers without it.

Re: The Sacred Church Building

buildings are not sacred spaces, people are the habitation of God's Spirit.

that being said I still would not use the church for a dance hall, or place to party.

Re: The Sacred Church Building

My point is not, to not have a building. When I Pastored several times we had a building. Other times we used houses or meeting rooms in a hotel.

Here is the point. There is 168 hours in a week. If a Church used the building for 3 meetings a week for 3 hours each time they would use it for 9 hours. Lets say they have a womens meeting and a mens meeting each for 3 hours. Lets throw in a youth meeting for another 3.

We would then be using the building 18 hours a week. So then the building sits there idle for 150 hours a week.

So no one says a problem with that? Opportunity with that?

Our church is always in use and members can come and pray 24 hours a day. So what are you proposing here to rent it out or not have one at all.

Thats what I am getting at. The members can come and pray ANYTIME. Excellent. How about if they come and fellowship? Use it for a gathering place to go out on the streets of the neighborhood presenting the gospel?

Use it for a place for people in the Church to stay in dire times. Allow strangers to stay a day or two on their journey?

They will allow people to stay in the evangelist quarters that our members. They wouldnt allow strangers to stay there because they were strangers. Although im sure they may help them. Considering we have 1000's of dollars of equipment in the church.

People do fellowship that go in and out from prayer. Those seem like normal things, who would be against that?
