Northwest District UPC quesiton
Today I learned that there was once a Bible college in Idaho. I know nothing else about it. Any one know anything about it ??
In 1914, Harry Morse hosted the first Apostolic Faith Camp Meeting in Idaho. It was in September of 1914 at Star, Idaho.
It describes Harry Morse as living in Independence, Oregon, formerly of Boise, Idaho.
Did Harry Isaac Morse start these churches prior to moving to Oakland ??
Is this a different Harry Morse ??
The name of the camp meeting as "Apostolic Faith" reminds me of the name of the Apostolic Faith Church in Azuza.

Frank Yadon wrote a book "Historical Record of the Oneness Movement in the Northwest".
Does anyone have a copy ?
There was a small Bible college in Idaho but I do not know the name or when it was in operation. I'm pretty sure it was Oneness.
I did find the names of 3 Oneness Bible college I have previously never heard of.
International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas. Elder Lonard W. Coote.
Southern Bible & Vocational College in Milford, Texas. Elder L. C. Reed.
Apostolic College, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elder C. P. Williams.

Coots went into the Latter Rain. Became one of the founders of the IMA.
Elder Williams college produced many notable pastors and missionaries among the PAJC. It was a UPC college until 57 or 59? Elder Williams promoted gifts of the Spirit and faith thus during the witch hunts after the latter rain movement it became blacklisted. He was never latter rain taught strong new birth & holiness message.

Don't know about him but I do know men who advocated the operation of the gifts and preached divine healing with emphasis were frown upon because of the extremes of the latter rain movement who forsook doctrine and holiness. Even those who did neither. The Williams were very conservative even for that day. The Davis brothers and I H Terry were out from under them, however many of those affected were PCI in their doctrinal stance thus the move was not difficult.

I might have to find that. Has the UPC ever had a real strong presence in the Pacific Northwest?

Re: Northwest District UPC quesiton
I do not understand the impact of the UPC on the pacific northwest. My focus is on one man. Understanding the context of his life and ministry is something I am learning about. But the bulk of his work was in Oakland.
Since Morse was not the first Pentecostal in Oakland, understanding the relationship between the various Pentecostal churches in the bay area is my focus.
Morse seems to have visited and started churches in Idaho and in California. But once he began his work in Oakland, he stayed there.

Re: Northwest District UPC quesiton
It seems to be a habit of many among the conservative ranks to go overboard in their witch hunting. They tend to throw the baby out with the bath water.
Many in idaho, among the conservatives, still hold a negative position regarding gifts of the spirit.

Re: Northwest District UPC quesiton
How could Pentecostals be against the gifts of the Spirit? That makes ZERO sense to me. Their meetings must be dead as doornails.
