Is this the angry section of AFF?

Is this the angry section of AFF?

So I stayed out of this section for a couple of days. I feel maybe that I have been quick to give my opinion on certain subjects. Maybe I haven't given enough thought about what I was saying before posting. So if I offended anyone before, I apologize.

I want to tell all my Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Liberal, Libertarian and Independent friends I hope there is no hard feelings.

God Bless

Re: Is this the angry section of AFF?

One time years ago I went to a Christian concert (Toby Mac).
Anyway Toby, Mr. Mac said that "people who vote for McCain aren't the only Christians, or people who vote Obama aren't the only Christians".
In the context of what he was saying is that not only the people who vote like you are Christians.
But after he said the first part clearly about republicans there was a Gasp from the crowd. Then when he said the same thing about Democrats there was another Gasp from the crowd. I totally got what he was saying.

Sometimes we forget that other people are raised different than we are. Offending a person is not helpful in winning them over to Christ or to the truth as we know it today.

Jesus didn't come to win an election. He did not run for office. Neither did his Apostles. They were preachers who preached the Word.

A well intended post.

However, I would like to point out that many who are engaged (really engaged) in politics can appear to be very heated in their opinions while "holding" no hard feelings to begin or end with. Politics is just what it is.

When I was on blog radio during the primaries, we got pretty heated, but no one had hard feelings as we would come back, at our appointed slot time, and do it again.

I probably have offended some people at various times, but I expect us all to let it roll off our backs and move on. Politics and religion can be a contentious subject. And I think that if someone knows the conversation is going too far to keep their peace of mind, they should back down and cool off. I've taken that advice myself. I post in other places where people are downright ugly. I certainly never see it at that level on AFF.
