God's Attitude

What in your opinion is God's attitude? I've heard that God sits on his throne and can be disinterested, like the times our prayers aren't answered. I've heard God described as a passionate lover of our soul. Do you think God's emotions vary from joy when we worship to anger when we sin or is he constant and how can that consistency be described? How can God relate to every individual at the same time?

I would say he loves us and rejoices over us. Yet I do think when we sin he is upset about it. He may in fact punish us then and there. Or he may grant time for repentance. He is sovereign so we cannot say exactly how he will react. His word seems to show several aspects of his character.

He relates to each individual by giving each one a part of himself even the Holy Spirit. He is big enough and great enough to do this.

I agree.

I agree. He's no respector of persons. If He was biased or partial, some of us would be in trouble.

What I mean is this: Anannias and his wife lied. God killed them the same day. Jezebel was teaching saints to commit fornication. Jesus gave her a space to repent. Thats what I mean.

Perhaps Jesus is that way so that we dont just take for granted that we will always have time/chance to repent. Anytime sin is in our life we should be very afraid.

what I'm trying to get at is our view of God as a person. How can God be mad at me for sinning and joyful with you for worshipping at the same time? God can have these reactions if we view it as the holy spirit with each of us having these reactions and perhaps Jesus concerned with the condition of his church in general or the rise and fall of nations. I'm just trying to understand God and his emotions. Does this make any sense to anyone?

It's a sobering thought isn't it?
