Obama halloween. Healthy version
When the kids knock:
Hello. Then the teachable moment begins. I am going to take some of your candy and give it to the next kids that may be less fortunate and have less candy but want some more. I will not give the more unhealthy candies to the children suffering with obesity.
President Bush made you kids too fat and we need to get on track.
Quote:
After all of the treats have been collected at the end of the night, children will be required to bring their candy to central collection locations in their communities. There, government contractors — most likely ACORN workers who need work between elections — will collect the candy from the children and record their information. Then they will count all of the candy up and divide it equally amongst all of the children in the area. The treats will then be redistributed to everybody, including those who stayed home that night"
Your children will think it’s unfair that they did all the work but don’t get to reap the full rewards of their efforts. After you finish wiping their tears, you can use the occasion as a teachable moment and tell your children what they just experienced is an example of how socialism works. Then they’ll understand.

lol, so you don't support giving foodstamps to poor people? Thats a kind of socialism also. If your church operates a foodbank, does it check out everyone it gives the food to 100% to make sure they need it before they give it away?

Re: Obama halloween. Healthy version
sounds like sharing the wealth or promoting equality among people, so what's wrong with that?

You miss the point. You are creating a red herring.
Socialism is not only about the giving part. it requires taking from the haves. "Taking"
Kinds don't want candy taken from them. Actually it teaches them adults aren't safe.
My family has always supported the poor.

So instead of calling socialism taking your money, call it your giving to the underpriveleged

Re: Obama halloween. Healthy version
In fact, if you redefine socialism in terms of giving, socialism actually becomes the act of a society giving to its own underpriveleged people.

Re: Obama halloween. Healthy version
Many years ago in a newspaper column by someone named Williams it was made clear that
--the government has no money of its own
and
--the only way the government can give money to someone is to take it from someone else

Re: Obama halloween. Healthy version
Maybe if every Christian gave more to the poor we wouldn't have ever needed the government doing the giving, but since christians have obviously failed in that mission, it seems we should be thankful at least someone is helping them out.
