No longer the Real American Hero

When I was a kid, I loved G.I. Joe cartoons and action figures. So I was excited to hear about the new G.I. Joe movie coming out next month.

Well, until I read it's not the real G.I. Joe. The new G.I. Joe is not a Real American Hero at all ... instead its just an acronym for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity. And Cobra's not the Cobra of old either ... instead it's just a seedy crime syndicate run by a Scottish arms dealer!

I hope this movie fails big time. Of course it won't because people usually don't care about the politics of a movie ... they just like the special fx it has.

Too bad the kids growing up who'll see this movie won't know the real G.I. Joe story, and instead will be fed this global force junk.

RIP - Real American Hero

Re: No longer the Real American Hero

THIS is an example of the GI Joe I grew up with, well before the cartoon turned GI Joe from a single character to a fighting unit.
