Showing Compassion
Our pastor has been teaching and promoting compassion all year. We stepped out into a new venue that has never been tested before that we know of.
We set up a prayer booth at the state fair in our city. We received over 3,000 prayer request. We had what we called a prayer wall, where they could come and write their prayer request and then we would take the paper back to our church and pray over it for the rest of the month.
In addition to the prayer wall we handed out cards stating we were praying for families, military, and revival. The back of the card has our church name. There are many hungry people out there and many that need a church home. I am praying that with this Sunday being Easter that many will remember their cards and come and visit us.
We did this with nothing coming back to us. We had some offer to give a donation that we declined. We wanted this to be strictly a compassion event. A giving to our community.
We are already getting some testimonies of God beginning to answer their prayers.
