Obama Signs $787 Billion Stimulus Package

One word to describe this stimulus package: FOOLISH!!! I don't think people realize that this will only give us an extra $8-$13 a week. Oh sure that will help Americans get ahead. We are on our way to being The Socialist States of America. There's your "change" for those who voted for Obama.

The Administration could just not offer a stimulus package and allow banks and industries to fail...resulting in a wave of nationalization. Now that would be REAL socialism.

First of all, this isnt a stimulus package. its the biggest pork barrell in the history of America.

there is very little real stimulus in it.

second of all, Obama isnt a socalist. I have come to realize he is really a facisit.

by the way the stock market is down 700 points since this "stimulus" plan passed.

I realize that no matter what he does, there will be folks to attacks its merits.

There will be folks to back him up, regardless.


GWB's stimulus was mishandled and did not do too good of a job stopping the bleeding.

But maybe this round will. Time will tell.
I'm disappointed in some of the spending involved, but somehow I think his plan does more to help average Americans than GWB's did.


I anxiously await the "official" foreclosure plan specifics.

I honestly dont believe any government spending can be handled correctly. I firmly believe that spending fails to deal with the core issues.

we will see. but my view here is that Obama realizes that time is the thing that will cure the economy. He realizes that this was his chance to package a bunch of his ideology and make it law. Calling it stimulus gets it passed.

in the end the economy will recover and he will take credit. All he will have done will be to suck a bunch of money out of the real economy and then hand that money to other folks he wants to have it.

moving a card from one location to another doesnt create a new deck of cards.

I heard there are some non-spicifics out today. nothing solid yet. it seems there will be an attempt to help somewhere between 3 and 14 million people keep their homes.


bottom line here, if you bought a house for 150K and the guy next door to you bought a home for 150k and you are making your payments on time and the neighbor isnt, then he is going to get a check from the gubbermint and you are going to get bupkus.

both of you keep your home, but you pay for yours....and his.


this is the heart of the Obama plan. It is the heart of liberalism.
