UPC Missionary Bill Thompson Passed today

This thread is in honor of a great man of God, Missionary William Thompson, missionary to the country of Colombia.

Bro. Thompson was a trinitarian missionary in the country of Colombia who later received the revelation of the mighty God in Christ. He served in Colombia, as one of our (Apostolic) missionaries from the 1940's till not sure when (at least the later part of the 60's maybe longer)

It's because of this man, that my family knows the Gospel.

Early this morning, Bro. Thompson went home to be with his wife, who went on before him and more importantly to be with Jesus...

Since retiring he's been living in Houston and a member of Life Tabernacle with the the Kilgores...

view is Friday and the funeral is this saturday at Life Tabernacle in Houston.

I was thinking of that scripture when I read about this minister's homegoing.

CP, I think that it is great that you remember and honor this great man to this day. More of us should take the time to thank God and the people who have influenced our lives and helped shape our ministries.

God Bless, and I'll be praying for his family

PS. I'm a little partial to missionaries myself.

Re: UPC Missionary goes home to be with the Lord

in 2009 My Grandma will be celebrating 60 years since she received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name!

My family came out of the Catholic church in the 40's...a missionary from the Four Squared Church was the first to share the Gospel with my family... he gave my Grandfather a Bible as a gift....

My Grandparents started studying the Bible and saw that there were a lot of things that they had never been taught or understood the meaning of..........especially the book of Acts...

My Grandparents, their children (11 in total) and some neighbors (40 people in all) went to a mountain to fast and pray for direction....after a few days an Angel appeared to my Uncle, who at the time was 8 years old. The angel told my Uncle that the group needed to go to the city of Bucaramanga, the angel mentioned the exact street and street number and said that God's servant would be waiting to preach to them what they needed to do to be saved......

They didn't believe that Angels could be seen, they didn't know about the gifts of the spirit, or that people still spoke in toungues

My Uncle told my Grandfather and the other adults what had happened...they went to Bucaramanga which is about 5-6 hours away....no one was sure if the street even existed....

They found the street, then the street number.......knocked on the door
Bro. Thomspon answered and said, "You must be the people the Lord said he was sending to me!"

They were ALL baptized in the name of Jesus......all filled with the Holy Ghost....

He is a good God!
