Re: happy memorial day

My father and Grandfather served in the Navy during WWII. They both saw action and neither would talk about it. They said that we wouldn't believe it. I'm not sure but I think both died before Saving Private Ryan came out.

Re: happy memorial day

A lot of people that fought in wars don't like to talk about it.

Re: happy memorial day

Be sure and pray for all those who are in the US military and all our veterans, not just on Memorial Day, but every day.

My prayer is:
1-- that God would draw each of them to Himself, helping them to open up their hearts to receive Him --that no person in our military would not have a personal relationship with Jesus.
2--that God would protect all who are serving in the military, that there would be no more deaths and no more wounding (may be unreasonable but it's what I ask for)
3--that God would heal all those who have been injured/wounded while in the military. This includes veterans of all our wars who have been wounded in various ways.
4--that God would comfort those who have lost friends, loved ones, family members in war, help them in their grief, help them not to shut out God and His offer to comfort those who are hurting
5--that God would get us out of Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places somehow.

Regarding point number three above, recently I read some information that caused me to pray more than before for the healing of our veterans. Have you ever visited a Veteran's Hospital and seen those who are hanging out there? One out of every four homeless persons in the U.S. are veterans, but vets are only 11 percent of the population. 47 percent of the participants in the VA's homeless programs have a diagnosable mental illness and more than 3 out of 4 have a substance abuse problem. 35 percent have both a mental illness and a substance abuse problem. Iraq war veterans seeking help are more likely to be women, less likely to have substance abuse problems but more likely to have post traumatic stress.

Divided Thigh,

Hope you had a wonderful time with your children; I know you miss them being so far away.

My friend brought her three children over to swim in my pool. It was nice to have children back in my home. We made pizza and had candy...they had a really good time, and so did I.

This morning I made barbecue pork ribs, potato salad, and baked beans. My sister and I ate and watched the dogs LOL.

I am taking time off work this week and have a list of catch up things to do. I am going to enjoy sleeping in tomorrow.

Blessings, Rhoni
