I'm not sure where to put this, I would like to ask you all to pray for my uncle today. He technically isn't my uncle, he has been my dad's best friend my whole life, the best man at his wedding. To put it in perspective, he not only bought my first car for me, he also bought my daughters first car.
Anyway, he has been alone for years, he was divorced before I was ever born and never remarried. He had two children, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. About 15 years ago his granddaughter died of Cystic Fibrosis, after suffering with it for years. His mother died two years ago, and his daughter was killed in a horrible car wreck last year. His son broke his back in an accident last year and has been on disability every since.
Last night I got a phone call from my mom telling me that Uncle Don had just been notified that his grandson had died Sunday of an apparent drug overdose.
I am terribly worried that this will be more than he can bear, his health has not been good lately, and this has been a devastating couple of years for him. His only living (blood) family left is his son and great-grandson. I am asking for anyone that can to say a prayer for him today, that God would give him peace in the midst of this.
Thank you so much, it means a lot that I can bring this here.
I will pray for Uncle Don as well. Does he know the Lord Diz?
Yes, he does, he is a pillar of our church, no one more faithful than him. Every Sunday night he is right behind me when we are doing our pre-service prayer warm-up and he is so precious.
