I hope the best for both of your ministries. I call upon the Lord to shower you and that brother with great blessings and more growth.
I hope every good saint leaves and finds a good church or some good man takes them and starts a church. To stay there would ........ your soul and your children.

Forget Brother Pixler for a moment, but what if you were attending a church since you were a child, then one day the preacher gets into the pulpit and informs everyone for a month long preaching that basically everything they once believed would no longer be taught there? Whose eyes need to be open? Grab your Bible, look at the wife, she motions to the children, and everyone single files out the door.

But please remember I'm not saying that this family is scooting out the door because of one or two sermons, but they heard it preached to them, they've seen the changes, they felt the changes, then low and behold messages start to seep over the pulpit towards those who haven't got with the program. Little "hints" here and there floating over the pulpit, (not screaming, no spitting, no cursing) but ever so melodious wafting over the pulpit to smart bomb those who won't get with the new improved program.
Then all those who are all behind the preacher start to bare down (not physically) but subtly on those who refuse get with the new message of liberty.

Seemingly eyes have been just thrust wide open?

I know that facts get in the way of all the fun rumors, but ONE family has left. Not much of a backdoor revival. And in a church that size, losing a family now and then is pretty much business as usual.

I assume you, and all of the other preachers who love to stir this stuff up on social media, have followed the Biblical mandate to GO TO HIM personally with your concerns before making your opinions public?

"More than meets the eye." That type of blanket comment is slanderous. Either say what you mean, or don't make a comment like that that is open to so much conjecture.

But, who cares? We'll just pound the pulpit over our pet subjects, and ignore the Biblical teachings on how to handle differences properly.

Said the man blinded by his neo Phariseeical spirit.

Gasp! They no longer wash their hands according to our traditions, to hell with them. Forever. To burn in the flames. Over mascera and possibly fingernail polish, or a pair of shorts on the men.

When it comes down to it what is the real difference in your theology and ISIS? you won't put a gun to someone's head but if they don't believe like you then they can go to hell. Including not only the burning of those trinitarians that seems to give you a little pep in your step, but a large percentage of the apostolic movement also.

Your posts make me so glad I left. There was a time I would have amen'd everything you said. I am so thankful for the freedom that is in Christ.

Please with all due respect, let's refrain ourselves from rebuking our Elders. Regardless of our differences in belief. Elder Epley is a well respected Elder who deserves much respect.

I missed this post. I'm not anti OP. I don't agree with some on their doctrinal conclusions on soteriology, tithing, or standards. But I was saved in an OP church, I have friends in and out of the UPC, I have an overall favorable opinion of the movement. I personally like DKB and occasionally read his books still.

But I am anti religious hatred, oppression, and legalism. I am against the spirit of Steve Epley but not the man himself. He ought to repent of his pride and hate. I may die before him, but if both us die a natural death, he's much further down the road than I am and you'd think the gravity of meeting your maker would humble you and soften you just a bit, at least towards fellow Christians. But SE is too blinded by pride or simply unwilling to objectively look at scripture because he knows he has dug in for too long on the wrong hill. And rather than just say "I had some misguided zeal" he is willing to die on that hill, not because he has to, but because he is too stubborn to come down.

So SE is free to gossip and tell lies because of his age?

There's a big difference between open rebuke and respect of opinion.

Gossip and lies is not what Elder Epley is doing sir. He simply is stating facts through observation and experience. Far beyond mine.

Which is why I will now retire from it, I'm not here to debate with these good people.
