Get a building, get a crowd, organize, organize. Lead them to attend so that they pray, pay and obey, walla you have a church that looks like the apostolic church, NOT!

No one ever went back to the original copy to question whether it was the correct one. So we are stuck with bad copies spread all around the country.
Please explain this, quote! We believe the apostles doctrine!

The last visited was made in 1998 and they had to open the folding doors that lead to another large open space in the back of the church due to so many members, I was told it was topping 400 then. It's was one of the biggest UPC church in the upper northern Calif at the time, until you reach Sacramento Calif, and Bend OR Church that was ran by Johnson at the time, this would've been the next closes at the time in the other direction, follow by small UPC Churches in logging towns in between like Round MT Calif and Burney Calif .

Husband and Wives working 60+ hours a week.. at church usually Sundays.. and Wednesday Nights... and any other prayer night or task night during the week...

I think Sunday Evening is a great time for Family in my opinion...

I like One Service on Sunday.. The Pastor is not worried about preaching TWO sermons... the people don't get wore out...

I've talked with some local pastors that would love to go to one service on Sunday but are forced by the More traditional saints to two... but are looking to go to one...
DING,DING,DING!!!! We have a winner. Thanks for this post of sanity.

Two services is nothing but a MODERN DAY TRADITION.

If anything it certainly insures that Sunday is NOT a day of rest as God intended one day of the week to be.

Cookin,

Can you please explain your screen name? In what context are you "cookin with Stoneking"?\

I can take this several ways.

1. You and LS are BBQ buddies and cookout together a lot?
2. You are a "Stonekingian" who thinks he is the best preacher in Pentecost
and preaches those mysterious "masterpieces" I can't seem to find. Possibly
you are a groupie who travels to as many of his meetings as possible and
therefore are "Cookin with Stoneking?

I agree, CC1. We really need to start a NEW tradition... one that REALLY serves the flesh... No services... you simply drive by and pick up your DVD/CD to play in your car as you drive or in your home as you sleep (subliminal conversion is the newest tradition). Thus we can more effectively accommodate the flesh. I mean really, it is ALL about me and my job isn't it? Who in the world thinks sacrifice has a place in Christianity any more?

Give me a break!

I have no problem with a church having a single service on Sunday but I do have a problem with someone using satisfaction of the flesh to justify it... saints and preachers included!

No, none of the above, I like Leeroy (as the illustrious Charles M. would call him) and I like to cook (as he does) therefore I am cookin with Stoneking.

Philjones,

The one time I tried something like that it backfired! I had to leave after church Sunday on a business trip and was pressed for time. I had a brilliant idea as I sat in service. I thought to myself that I would stay for the praise and worship and then when the preaching started I would go down to the bookstore and buy a CD of the earlier service that morning and listen to the sermon while driving.

I was so pleased with myself until I popped in the CD later and it was bad. Arghhhh!!!!!!!!!!! I had to wait until I got back from my trip to swap it out for a good one.
