Cruz For President Announces Second Amendment Coalition

HOUSTON, Texas – Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz today rolled-out his Second Amendment Coalition at a rally in Johnston, Iowa. The group represents gun rights advocates across the country who believe in the fundamental constitutional right to bear arms for the purpose of self-defense.

The coalition already has 24,030 members, including 1,084 members in the four early primary states. The coalition will be co-chaired by Gun Owners of America President Tim Macy, former Congressman Bob Barr, President and Co-Founder of Heroes Hunting Sgt. Patrick Perkins, Richard Rogers and Dave Funk.

“The right to self-defense is an essential component of the liberty we enjoy as Americans and is embodied in the Second Amendment. The right to keep and bear arms is not about hunting; it’s not about target practice. It’s about our basic right to protect our homes, our children, and our lives,” said Cruz. “I am honored to have the leadership of our National Co-Chairs and am humbled by the tens of thousands of Americans who have signed up to join me as, together, we strive to protect our Second Amendment freedoms.”

That's what I wanted to hear!

"It offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary powers of rulers."

That's what the 2nd Amendment's protection was meant to provide.

Too bad he has a snowball's chance.

He is building momentum at the right time.

Go Cruz!

Listening to local rino talking heads on the radio yesterday blasting Trump's no muslim immigration statement, and they mentioned Cruz as "another" islamophobe.

smh

Establishment hates Cruz as much as they hate Trump. Very disappointed hearing these guys rage not just against Trump, but also against Cruz and Carson.

I can feel him getting bolder. You can see it in his body language and hear it in his voice.

Of course, there are large crowds following Trump, so I don't count him out. We will see who comes out to actually vote. He doesn't give me a lot of confidence that he could debate Hillary on the deeper policy issues. Ted Cruz would play her like a fiddle.

Cruz had the best response to Trump's Muslim immigration comments. The other candidates played into Trump's move by pouncing on him. Now they, aside from Cruz, have aligned themselves on this issue with Obama. If that was Donald's actual move, it was pretty crafty of him.
