Hello?
This thread is about a measly 67k private sector jobs and 121k government jobs.
Those vets don't figure yet in the jobless percentage until they come home and are discharged.
What our nation needs is what I just said, more private sector jobs, not more government jobs

You made your point, however, in the context of this thread so I misunderstood your intents.
I agree with your statement.
Just to be clear though, that 121k government jobs are government jobs that disappeared, went away.
So the good news in this is that the ECONOMY IS MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!
The point of this thread is, it is happening on a Democrat's watch but he won't get any accolades (on AFF) for his efforts to help revive our economy because he is a Democrat.

The 2 thing i saw that got very little press were the shorts sales in september 08 and the net foreign exchange on crude imports. That hit 1 trillion in 2008.
To cover for Fannie, the CDO's were misvalued. JP Morgan had no risk manager. Lehman Bros got nailed.

growth in GDP is 1.6% Baseline is 3% when you look at GDP per person or net workforce figures.
The economy was reported to grow in June and July and both months have been adjustted downward.

US deficit for August... 211.9 billions!
So far for 2010, with one month left...
The deficit is 1.54 trillion... with 30 days left.
Obama predicted a 1.17 trillion deficit FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR.

Jermyn. I really don't think you comprehend accounting enough to see borrowing money to spend by the government is a false measure of growth.

Coadie, I really don't think you comprehend the concept of "balanced" in order to recognize that our Democrat President has made decisions that are taking our economy in a positive direction.
No one said it's all rosy. I am saying that we are, as a country, coming out of this recession.
I will also say that the "double dip" affect that some are pointing to is a real threat to any progress that has been made.
I hope that our President and this Administration leads our country in a way to where that "double dip" does not occur.
I hope that our Democrat President and his policies steer us away from the recession.
Today's news shows much promise-- despite the fact that a Democrat is at the helm of this ship.

Do you realize we are not in a recession?

What are we in?
If the recession is "officially" over, it does not nullify what's going on now in the average American's life nor does it undermine the progress that has been made to date with the leadership of the Democrat Executive and Legislative branches of government.
