Of course I ignored the scriptures you posted, it was an immediate attempt to take the focus from the passage I posted. You erroneously suggested that the passage was speaking solely about the gifts of the Spirit.....it isn't. The 1Cor 12 passage is speaking of the working of the Spirit within, and on behalf of, individuals. One very clear working of the Spirit is to dwell within an individual allowing that individual to confess Jesus is Lord. Without Him, there will be no confession....per scripture

ROFL...Seeker..I dealt with your verse. So it wa not taking focus off of it.
You didn't want to deal with those verses because they disprove your idea that God gives the Spirit to those that don't believe

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.

What the scripture is saying is that those who truly speak by the Spirit will confess that Jesus is Lord, and not that he is accursed. Anyone claiming to be speaking by the Spirit and curses Christ is not speaking by the Spirit.
The context of this verse is not saying that sinners are filled with the Spirit before they are filled with the Spirit.

You delt with nothing. Simply posting a short one liner alleging that the verse was speaking of the gifts of the Spirit isn't 'dealing' with it.

But that does not say, as you claimed, that the Spirit enters a sinner to they can confess "Jesus is Lord". That is really a silly notion.

I'm saying that the scripture indicates that the Spirit is active within the person who confesses that Jesus is Lord. Without Him, they will not and cannot do that.
