I have absolutely no doubt they are sincere, dedicated people. I never questioned that.

I was briefly a member of Walter Hallam's Abundant Life Church (you can watch him on tv). We were love bombed until we officially became members. Then we saw that what we thought was intense personal concern, multiple visitations, and "bold outreach" was in reality a programmed aggressive marketing method, not much different than one of those multi-level "network marketing" schemes I almost bought into once back in the day (originally started by Pat Robertson of all people).

And no, I am not saying this church is doing that. I am however saying they are advertising to "felt needs" of a particular group of demographics, rather than advertising the Lord Jesus as the center of reality and purpose of life. In other words, the website comes across as Jesus and church being a means to an end, that end being "Your personal happiness and success in life!" rather than Jesus being the Way, Truth, and Life itself.

Again, I know lots of people who are sincere, but sincerely wrong in their entire approach to religion. And an entire generation has picked up on that. Millennials and Generation Z (so called) are generally speaking completely tuned out of any interest in the type of "religion" advertised by the website except maybe entertainment value (game room? Cool, maybe...) even though those two generations are MORE interested in God and spirituality than probably anyone since the 19th century and the Second Great Awakening. Yet those two generations are also the LEAST likely to bother with "church" as it is known in America.

There's a lesson in that which we ought to be paying attention to.

You need to stop mischaracterizing me. If I was gossiping I would've said his name. I only stated he use to be in the UPC. You came and defended him, and I wasn't even talking about him but the beliefs.

I asked a question is this too much compromise? I only wanted peoples opinion on the content. You came and Interjected the man's name, and all this personal stuff.

You wouldnt even be acting that way if the information on the website didn't show compromise. As for everything else your saying it's only mischaracterizing my true stance towards this whole situation. If your wrong doctrinally, your wrong doctrinally. Theres no partiality in me towards my Mom, my Pastor or anyone else.

Why did you want peoples opinions on if it was too much compromise?

So that's what I think, don't mischaracterizing me, say exactly what I said.

.
I wuzn't talkin' about him! I wuz just talkin' about what he believes, which isn't really about him per se, it wuz just his thinking process which is kind of removed from the person 'cause I read it and didn't hear him say it and all that kind of stuff. Okay.

Because I realize that on here people are liberal in their approach to a lot of things. I wanted to know if this was over the line. By what answers I got, I would know exactly who, and what I was dealing with. I wasn't going to even reference this man.

I read it on his own website, he mightve well said it. It represents him and the church he Pastors. You turned this in to a personal thing.

But I do understand now why you come with the conclusions you do if that's your church. Pictures do say a thousand words.

Went over the statement more closely. I have no problem with it.

So really it was a "liberal" litmus test? If we agreed with you we weren't liberal apostolics and if we didn't we were? Interesting story.
