I join in with AQuietPlace... what'd I miss? ?????? Is "The AFF Cesspool of Compromise" a copyrighted term? If so just change it to "The AFF Sewer Septic Tank of Compromise!"

Re: The AFF Cesspool of Compromise

This is a portion of a thread on one of our "sister" Forums. I am posting this in response to a discussion on another thread about how "badly" those who identify themselves as "cons" are alleged to be treated here.

ApostolicPreachersForum.com (http://www.apostolicpreachersforum.com/forums/index.php)
- Fellowship Forum (http://www.apostolicpreachersforum.c...isplay.php?f=2)
- - Just to pat one another on back (http://www.apostolicpreachersforum.c...ad.php?t=15710)

Just to pat one another on back

Someone sent a short link to AFF. I never wanted to regurgitate any more than when I was reading their post.

From what I can tell, they are a bunch of back slidders (Most, not all) who have gotten together to see if they can come up with enough defenses to combat the truth. They care not one wit for the truth and it appears as if they pat one another on the back so they can keep believing they are not wrong.

It makes the scriptures about the falling away become more real to me.

Have any of you breathern been there? To argue that women wearing mens clothing isn't sin is beyond the norm of "apostolic". Just saying....

I get angry and sick to my stomach every time (all 2 of them) I go over there.

My main concern Bro H--- is young ministers that go there just to visit. Their intellectual approach to everything has caused them to be reprobate concerning the faith.

I think, we as pastors, should not allow the young ministers we have under us to go and read that garbage. We as older ministers need to "mark them" and avoid them ourselves and not take the chance that our younger ministers will be able to defeat their thinking.

Garbage I say. I know I stand as one of a few but i am on the record saying many men will be lost for patting each other on the back in their rebellion.

just saying....

Bro. I---, I believe it is not a place for true Christians and the ones who claim to be conservative Apostolics who join that crowd, will have to give an account for their every idle word. What fellowship hath light with darkness?!?!?

Never been to AFF... It doesn't sound like anywhere I want to visit either.

Re: Just to pat one another on back

We have a lady from our church who is very active on AFF. When I say "from our church", I say that loosely. She calls my husband her pastor. Her husband has been to church once in the past 5 months. She has not been to church in over 6 months. The last time we saw her was when she showed up for our Ladies Christmas party...and that only happened because we were leaving the church in a caravan and she was driving by and saw us. She pulled up and asked where we were going...we told her and she went with us.

She posts on AFF and Facebook and makes it sound like she's on fire for God. We have new people in our church that wouldn't know her if she walked in the door. She was raised in church, so we don't say anything...we just love her and pray for her. I really think AFF and Facebook have become her church.

Bro. I---,

You have hit the nail on the head! I have long stated that the greatest danger of AFF, is young impressionable saints/preachers or any "weak" saint who may stumble on what is called an "Apostolic" forum. There are many people who with the advent of the internet now have access to more info than they can handle. When they find an "Apostolic" site many times they are happy to find others that believe like they do. Often they are looking for affirmation from other Apostolics, and what they find on AFF is anything but that.

I have watched as several have departed from the truth because of the ilk that they encountered on AFF, they came looking for people of like faith to shore up their doctrinal foundations, only to find those who rejoiced in the removal of all that is Holy; and IMHO those responsible will pay an eternal price if they do not repent. (Personally I fear than some of them are reprobate and can find no place of repentance.)

I am still a "member" because I try to help some of those that I feel are trying to find a real connection to truth.

Maybe what we really need to establish is an Apostolic forum for the public domain (not preachers/wives only) that really is apostolic in nature/content and spirit.

It's been tried & usually fails.

So instead we use facebook

Re: Just to pat one another on back

About three or four years ago, I visited the site out of curiosity and it seemed to have a majority of good people. I never posted there and only visited a few times. Last year, a friend made a comment about a thread there and I visited again. IMO, it had completely changed and was an overwhelming majority of bitter reprobates viciously attacking anything close to holiness. Those kind of people can't be helped or don't want to be helped. They are birds of a feather who feed off each other's negative comments about conservative Apostolics.

I made up my mind, after that last visit, it was not a place for any godly person and I vowed to never return. (FTR, I am a woman of my word - I ain't been back!)

I am persuded this might work if you could find the right admin. I realize we must allow differences of opinions and interpertations but to do away with all standards of holiness, they need to be rebuked and not allowed on.

Part of the requirements should be as a woman, "Do you believe cutting hair is wrong, wearing of mens apparel, ect." As a man, are you a queer, ect.

LOL. Sorry... I had missed editing out a couple of names in the underlying HTML code so I had to go back and make certain that I did indeed "protect the guilty."

The initials may or may not be the actual initials of the one quoted in the posts. Assume that all posts are anonymous.

Allright.... which of you ladies is she talking about? You need to 'fess up so we can pray for you. Is your husband also attending AFF - Facebook church? The pastor's wife that wrote this above seems to be "really on fire for God" if you know what I mean!
