Re: Privatize Marriage???

I really don't think marriage has anything to do with the government. This goes along with the gay marriage thing.....let the churches decide who they will marry etc.

I vote not even the church has a big say in it. All the church can do is decide to recognize or not to recognize. God joins a man and woman together... not government... not the church.

Re: Privatize Marriage???

Frankly, if a man and woman exchange rings and vow to be faithful to one another before two witnesses they should be regarded as being married in the eyes of God. I believe that a simple signed marriage certificate in a Bible should be adequate to establish a marriage.

This interesting:

It appears that in Christian tradition a couple CAN be married in the eyes of God and leave the state out of it.

Re: Privatize Marriage???

This is an interesting topic that is spreading. It will be interesting to see if or when the government will try to squash it. Some religious control freaks may forbid it as well.

I think you can get marriage certificates online.

I am all for privitizing marriage!

The simple fact is, if we do not privitize marriage, our government is going to soon make marriage into something Christians will not recognize.

If we dont do this, the Church will lose total control and government will dicate that churches cannot discriminate on who they marry or not.
