Tell me, please. And is there room in your father's house for us to spend the night?" 24 She answered: "I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor. 25 There is plenty of straw and fodder at our place," she added, "and room to spend the night." 26 The man then bowed down in worship to the LORD, 27 saying: "Blessed be the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who has not let his constant kindness toward my master fail. As for myself also, the LORD has led me straight to the house of my master's brother."

Interestingly the KJV translates the Hebrew word nexem simply as ring ... when indeed it is a nose ring?:

nexem (neh'-zem) a) a nose ring [woman's ornament]; b) an earring [ornament of men or women] (5141)

What sayest thou? Rebekah got a nose ring from father Abraham?
Yes, Rebekah got a nose ring. BUt it didn't mean a negative thing in her culture like it does in ours.

Again you claim the right BECAUSE then when cornered you just jump ship on your original argument.

Our difference on the verse in 1Tim. is one thing however many of you have used the examples in the OT as PROOF it is alright but abandon it when cornered. I figured as much.

I do understand what NOT means even thought evidently you do NOT.

NOPE according to the scholars on AFF EVERY married woman and man MUST wear a NOSE ring to prove they are married. Sounds good to me. I hope your pastor's wife shows up with a mega nose ring next service.

No one has jumped ship ... I see two strong arguments which you cannot refute ... one that jewelry was never a sin ... as some in the Apostolic movement have tried to paint .... and there is no command in the NT against it .... both a rock solid team that makes a slam dunk against EXTRA-BIBLICAL HERETICAL TEACHING GUISED AS THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD'S HOLINESS ..

LOL! Well, not in my book. I believe that modesty means that we should fit into our culture to an extent that we don't look like we are trying to be self-righteous or religious and also that we don't stick out in any other way, sexually, wildly or any other such. A nose ring is not proper in our culture because it is not an acceptable form of expression by the larger culture and is associated with wickedness.

In the oT some things were permitted such as:
polygamy
cuncubines
incestual marriages as in Abraham
vengence as Samuel with Agag
divorce
jewelry

However there are accounts when individuals and groups repented or chose to dedicate they removed their jewelry as Jacob & Isreal in Exo.34.

I know to God sin is sin ... but to compare wearing jewelry to sexual immorality and murder is ASENINE .....

and furthermore ... more untruths ....God uses it throughout scripture w/ the prophets and in Christ's parables .... all the way to Revelation ... in a positive light

it would be very inconsistent if God were to reward his children w/ concubines and multiple wives ...if he has prohibited such ... yet in scripture God uses jewelry figuratively, allegorically, etc ... in a positive light ....
