In a Utopian world perhaps charities and private contributions can take the place of welfare...but our world is so greedy already AND they have the "go out and get a job" mentality for ALL situations...not just for the bums that don't want to work, that I don't think it would work

Re: What Are Your Political Leanings-Really!

If you're results are "liberal" or "statist" (socialist) would you classify yourself as have a philosophy of government comparable to the philosophy held be men such as Frederick Denison Maurice (The Kingdom of Christ, 1838), Charles Kingsley (Water-Babies, 1863), Thomas Hughes (Tom Brown's Schooldays, 1857), Frederick James Furnivall (co-creator of the Oxford English Dictionary), Adin Ballou (Practical Christian Socialism, 1854), and Francis Bellamy (Baptist minister and author of the United States' Pledge of Allegiance)?
