I purchased that book after his speech. My granddaughter LOVES IT!
I am very sure the GOP won't support him as a Senator. We had Boehner in San Antonio showing support for Jeb Bush. If we put up a Governor, I support Mike Pence.

Re: It's Time To Draft Ted Cruz for President
While Holder and Michele continue to whine about racism this week, Ted Cruz makes the case for School Choice.
The more I hear him speak, the more I like him. Right now it looks like the country would benefit from him as President. Is it possible with the GOP Establishment pushing so hard against him? I have my doubts, but we are at a different time in our country.
Quote:
Sen Cruz: Celebrating Brown v. Board of Education -- We Must Finally Make Good on the Promise of Educational Choice
We need school choice and we need it now
WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today released the following statement commemorating the Brown v. Board of Education decision 60 years ago.
"On May 17th, 1954, the Supreme Court ruled in Brown v. Board of Education that all children, regardless of race, deserve an equal opportunity to learn—an obligation that remains to be fulfilled 60 years later.
"Brown was a landmark victory for justice, a unanimous repudiation of the oppressive doctrine of 'separate but equal.' In Brown, the Supreme Court vindicated the promise of equal protection guaranteed in our Constitution.
"Yet today, there are millions of children trapped in failing schools, and a grossly disproportionate number of them are minorities from poor families. Countless children are systematically kept out of schools with safer environments, higher test scores, and better graduation rates. This was unacceptable 60 years ago, and it is tragic that any child would find himself or herself in such a sorry situation today.
"As parents, as teachers, as lawmakers, we should come together and vigorously maximize opportunities to give children a world-class education. School choice is the civil rights issue of our era.
"Looking back on Brown v. Board of Education, we see the struggles that African Americans faced across the nation. History is filled with descriptions of the deplorable and unfair conditions African American children were forced to contend with in order to learn.
"Those days should be left in the past, yet access to a good education remains a struggle—the Obama Administration has repeatedly sought to eliminate funding for the DC Opportunity Scholarship Program that provides money for low-income children to attend high-performing private schools. And it is litigating to prevent low-income minority children from accessing better schools in Louisiana. Like the new mayor of New York, our current administration consistently puts the interests of adult union bosses over the future of kids struggling to achieve the American dream.
"Sixty years after Brown v. Board of Education the children of Anacostia are still waiting to be assured they’ll get a quality education.
"As Chief Justice Earl Warren wrote in the landmark ruling of Brown v. Board of Education 'it is doubtful that any child may reasonably be expected to succeed in life if he is denied the opportunity of an education. Such an opportunity, where the state has undertaken to provide it, is a right which must be made available to all on equal terms.'
"School choice gives low-income children the same choices and opportunities that children from wealthy families have always had. And school choice improves the public schools, making them stronger and more effective.
"The data show us that how much a child learns has a direct relation to how much they will earn in life. School choice gives every child a fair shot at success.
"We must finally make good on the promise of Brown v. Board of Education. We need school choice, and we need it now. Nothing less than the future of our children is at stake."

Re: It's Time To Draft Ted Cruz for President
Cornyn, Cruz, Sessions File Brief in Support of Obamacare Challenge
“The Constitution’s Origination Clause requires that all revenue raising bills originate in the House of Representatives. Harry Reid and Senate Democrats tried to sidestep this Clause through legislative gimmicks,” said Sen. Cruz. “Obamacare is a revenue raising bill that originated in the Senate, and it is therefore unconstitutional. I am honored to fight for all Texans in this lawsuit, as Obamacare’s illegal mandates are crippling businesses across Texas and all of America.”
“If Obamacare’s individual mandate is in fact a tax on the American people, Obamacare clearly violates the Constitution because it originated in the Senate,” said Congressman Pete Sessions. “I am proud to join with my colleagues in both chambers to show our support for this important case that should put an end to Obamacare. I took an oath of office to protect the Constitution that I take seriously and I call on the judiciary to do the same.”

He seems to be a maverick type. Like what John McCain was supposed to be.

Re: It's Time To Draft Ted Cruz for President
I have to confess that I strongly feel something here in his words. The type of candidate that rings true and touches deeply the heart. A game changer of a candidate. There is no one running who could touch the lives of Americans like this man. I feel that more every day.
Sorry, Ferd, hang the Governors. This man is the real deal.
Beginning at the 8:49 mark.

FEARLESS Sen. Ted Cruz: S.1696 is Extreme Legislation
“The legislation that this committee is considering is extreme legislation,” Sen. Cruz said. “It is legislation designed to eliminate reasonable restrictions on abortion that states across this country have put in place. It is legislation designed to force a radical view from Democrats in the Senate, that abortion should be universally available, common, without limit and paid for by the tax payer. That is an extreme and radical view.
“It is a view shared by a tiny percentage of Americans, although a very high percentage of activists in the Democratic Party, who fund and provide manpower politically. It is also a very real manifestation of a war on women, given the enormous health consequences that unlimited abortion has had damaging the health and sometimes even the lives of women.”

Re: It's Time To Draft Ted Cruz for President
Too awesome and looking more presidential every day!!!
Ted Cruz walks off stage after being BOOED for supporting Israel
"If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews,” he said. “Then I will not stand with you. Good night, and God bless.” And with that, he walked off the stage.
This looks more like a front group for jihad. IDC (In Defense of Christians) - Really? These people are Christians?

Ted Cruz’s Chief of Staff Move to Campaign Team a Hopeful Sign
If Senator Cruz builds his likely Presidential campaign team just as he built his Senate office team, he may actually have a shot. The good news is that he has taken at least one step in that direction by having Chip Roy, his Senate Chief of Staff, step down from that post to focus more attention on the political side of the business.
First, the Cruz staff is known to be rock solid conservative – and it functions that way. Chip hired a number of people I know personally very well, and respect immensely. They are all people willing and prepared to challenge the establishment.
