I heard one preacher say I know we are oneness but that don't mean you only put in a one dollar bill.

Ooohh... ooohhh! I don't want nice buildings or good programs! I just want a simple place to meet and old-time Holy Ghost power... how much does that cost?

I think you hit on something, The Church is allowing itself to be affected by the fake showmanship TV "ministries" out there that have no substance. Just because there is the fake does not mean the real is diminished. I believe that God can orchestrate an offering and through it meet the need. I have seen it done over and over again. Just because there are a few men who seem to be money hungry and are not shy about asking for it does not mean that God cannot or does not take the opportunity to do the miraculous and supplying our needs.
Pretty sad to me that so many on AFF have issues with giving. Have you ever considered how many scriptures there are in the Bible about it?
Between this thread and the tithing thread it is amazing how many either don't want offering received or the pastor to make any living at all. How do think all of this works? You can't want nice buildings and great programs and not want to fund them. C.L. Dees would often say...."this thing don't run on hot air and well water!"
I haven't seen anyone here say they have a problem with giving. Maybe you are reading different threads than I am.

Have a problem with giving at all, or giving in certain situations?
I haven't seen anyone stating they don't like giving at all, although I'm sure such people exist, even on this forum.
I like giving, but I don't care to broadcast that I'm giving, or what I'm giving, or how much I'm giving. For this reason, my pastor speaks to me often about paying tithes because he thinks I don't. I smile and listen to his lecture and continue on my way.
Of course, he might have figured me out by now because I attend church maybe once a month.....LOL!

No offense Sis., but why are you playing this game with your pastor. Fine if you don't want your name on the envelope, but if he is talking to you if just might be out of concern. And, you are there once a month playing hide and seek? You might remember.....HE has to stand in judgement for YOU. Is that of no value to you?
I am not for gimmick offering and such.....but, now we have to put boxes out so that no one feels pressure?
Again I say the only people that ever complain or question money or giving, in the church I pastor, are people who don't give.

There is much more to the story of him and I than I care to post on an open forum (and it's got nothing to do with tithes), but I'm in the process of looking for another church to attend.
As for his talking to me out of concern, I'd believe this if he didn't preach it so often.
There's just more to it than it being as simple as I made it out to be above.
As for my not attending church, it's mainly because I work almost every church service. I'm off mainly on Sunday mornings, but I'm lazy and don't get up due to working last on Saturday nights.
The church I plan on visiting this Sunday has service at 10:45. I think I can do that.
