Actually, for the married, adultery in the heart is almost certain to occur when they view porn due to the LUST that is stirred up in them.

I simply cannot see how you can differentiate between these sins and have a different rule to apply.
Brother Phil,
I've been contemplating addressing this post of yours.

I cannot totally agree with your assumption that every person that commits adultery is viewing or interested in porn. I would add, though, that any married man that goes from one relationship to another, rather quickly, would be suspect. And that would apply to an unmarried person also.

What I have seen happen is this, as I've been under several pastors that have committed adultery:

Struggles in finances and church which result in struggles in the home. You will assuredly have struggles in the home when the church is going through it.

Someone comes into your life and for a brief time all the voices of "Pressure" walk out the door - for a while. A comforting voice replaces pain and you don't have to think or feel pain for a little while. One thing leads to another and you leave what you know to be true because comfort feels better.

Later you find out it wasn't worth it and then, after tearing up lives, you stay where you are because now you can't fix it or yourself.

Another scenario would be someone that is held down by condemnation. If they can get past that the sin doesn't have the same pull on them. You have to seek the Lord, for yourself, and be released. You have to stop and say, "Today, no more." God will meet you there.

But it's okay when saints in the pews do it, right?

Chancellor, dear fellow, you know PP didn't mean that.

He didn't even mention the saints in the pews, which was why I asked the question.

He probably posted here specifically about people in leadership to keep with the original topic. I think it's safe to assume here that PP does not think that it's okay when saints in the pews do it.

He didn't mention the homeless on the streets either. Ask him about them.

Chancellor,
It's because he is addressing a known situation and not the whole on this issue.

From Strong's Concordance:

I know it's OT, but just out of curiosity...how would one anoint a head with oil ("rub with oil", according to the definition), without putting one's hand on the head?

And IF anointing the head with oil was the custom in the OT, it stands to reason that when the disciples spoke of laying on hands and praying, that would be what they referred to.

The only time it specifies that Jesus took someone by the hand (that I'm aware of) is when Jairus' daughter was healed. The rest of the time it just speaks of "lay...hands upon" or something similar, so how do you draw laying hands on hands from that?
Oil under the law was a type of Holy Ghost oil.We have the real oil.It just come on my forhead now and then. The Holy Ghost is refered to oil in our lamps.

You really don't. However, acknowledging you have a problem and trying to get help would be a step in the right direction. Those that refuse to acknowledge they have a problem are the loose cannons.
