I think that in some other culture (say, India[n]?) where jewelry, including piercings are more acceptable in polite society, there could be a case made for women perhaps wearing them even after conversion??? But I agree with Thad on this one....in the United States body piercings really identify you with the punk-under-culture, and to be just plain rude, they make you look like white trash. And THAT'S my honest opinion.
