That was the presumption, but because the mark is used to buy and sell that presumably means no cash....you have a mark

"Cash" was invented in 1661. How did people "buy and sell" before either "cash" or the "Mark of the Beast" had been implemented?
It seems that there was already a "cashless" society even when the Book of Revelation was still being revealed. Why didn't the angel first tell John that "cash" would be invented (and then explain to John what "cash" was), and then that cash would be taken away and replaced with the "Mark of the Beast" at some as yet undetermined future date?

The idea of a cashless society is not one just held by "prophecy nuts" as some might think. It is clearly on it's way to becoming a reality in our world.
Even a quick browse through the news today make it clear that the financial industry is moving steadily in that direction... all around the world:

A CASHLESS society came a step closer this week with the launch of Barclays “contactless” debit cards which allow customers to pay for items costing less than £10 by simply waving their cards over a reader.

I thought you were allowed to buy and sell with the mark (in a legal sense). I didn't think the mark itself was a "debit card".

Oh please!!!!! Not the fear again. Remember, the mark does no good unless it is in your RIGHT hand or your FOREHEAD!!!
Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
A credit card is just another form of currency! It is cashless in that there is no paper money, but it still operates on whatever currency they use in that country. Nowhere in Rev does it say "Cashless"!!!
Fear! I remember when it was your social that was the mark! Then it was the verichip!
