Do you need to order new eye glasses?

I saw this website this morning. The prices look really good if you are on a budget. My husband just bought bifocals at Sam's club and it ended up costing him $250.00! He got the transitions lenses so they get darker in the sunlight.

At this place it would cost:
frames---39.95
lens tint- 4.95 (They do not have transition (photochromic) in the bifocals)
Bi-focal w/line --17.00
+ shipping ----4.95

A grand total of $66.85! I have not actually tried to order from here yet, but I will when we need to order new glasses!

You won't believe what the title of this thread caused me to think it meant...I guess I need a break like all the other folks who have checked out.

Quality of frames? There was a place in NY ... that sold glasses for 39.95 ... but they were inferior in many ways ... although I would buy from there since I'm always losing them ... and they were good for "everyday" use.

If you really need glasses, Costco and Sams have better reputation and you have a local person to complain to if they are not correct.

Those prices are unbelievable!

Whis is the "index" for lenses mean?

Their standard lens index is 1.57 and for extra cost you can upgrade to either 1.61 or 1.67 index. Is this the thickness of the lens?

I would have coke bottole lens if I don't pay the extra money to get the thinnest material possible. and I don't see anything on this webiste about thickness, etc. options.

They say they are good quality, but I might not buy from them for children or other people who are tough on glasses.

Sam's was about $250 for my husband. They didn't give him correct information and they all gave conflicting information. It might just be the one in town here, but we probably won't be going back to them.

I'm not sure what the index means. But I took it as to how thin or thick you want the lense to be.
