Congressman virtually never read the bills they pass bro. Same with the Bush Administration.

Then the bill sat there for 3 days while the President palled around and spent Valentines' Day with Michelle in an expensive Chicago restaurant - on the taxpayer's dime.

There was no hurry to sign the bill. The only hurry was to get it past Congress before anybody had a chance to read it. What do the Obama supporters on AFF have to say about this?
First, anything you want to bet it wasn't on the tax payer's dime. Did you know that the food and provisions in the White House aren't even paid for...the President has to budget it out of his salary?

Second, it's not all that surprising that he let the bill sit to cool for a day or two. With the actions he's taken regarding Afghanistan he was in several high level national security meetings. That's hardly paling around.

Thirdly, it's refreshing to see a President place his marriage as a high priority on his list.

Do any of these people pay taxes too?

You guys are acting like people in foreclosure don't pay taxes and YOU'RE fitting their bill. These people have mortgages...unless they are unemployed at the moment these people work and pay taxes just like you do. And if 4 million Americans want to see at least some of their tax money return to them in some form to help them pay for their homes...isn't that a lot better than their money going to some multi-billion dollar corporate welfare scheme like massive tax breaks for companies like ENRON?

Jeesh.

I wish most of you worked for a government office at least once in your lives. This issue is really complex and there are not easy answers.

I've always spoken against the billions that have disappeared into the coffers of those with the deep pockets. My point about the martgages is that if you are going to do anything, it should be done for everybody. Are we really comfortable making the committment that from now on we will not allow anyone to be foreclosed on? Where do we draw the line?
I think my position is valid. I think that the extent of the assistance should be better constructed loans. When it comes to just handing out free money, either nobody should get it or everybody should get it.

How many homeowners (whether paid off or being paid on) are there in the U.S.? How much would it cost to give each of them $100,000 in cash and let them do whatever they wanted with it --like pay off a mortgage, pay down a mortgage, use it as a down payment and refinance a mortgage, or just drink it up or play the ponies?

I'm so glad my tax money is going to ACORN.
They did such a good job in the Ohio election.

The headlines said "Obama Signs Multi-billion Stimulus Package"

But then omitted the accompanying picture for some reason or another.

I'm not exactly sure how many homeowners there are, but I am pretty sure that trying to give all $100,000 in cash would be disastrous.
