I think the case of the fallen charismatic minister in Colorado demonstrated very sound wisdom in having effective policies and accountabity in place before it was needed. He had no cover or to way to get around his indiscretions.
He knew that ahead of time. It was a fair policy all the way around and one that took the wind out of the media sails.
Trust and integrity about adultery? But they have to sign an affirmation statement every two years? Our priorities are out of whack!

Not disagreeing with that. The difference, though, may be, re-affirming a doctrinal stance is not akin to re-affirming a stance on adultery. I do see some difference.
All too often we talk about how great message someone preaches and not how great of a person they are. That leaves the impression that the ability is greater than the person.
