Re: Texas House OKs Voter ID Bill

I don't want to sound critical or harsh, but for those who argue they don't have any form of ID or any means of driving...obtaining an ID is fairly simple. State-issued ID doesn't have to be a DL; it can be strictly an ID card that the state issues.

Again, not meant to be harsh, but unless one lives so remote or even in a cave, I can't see the justification for not getting out and voting...call someone up and have them drive you to the voting booth.

It's a matter of fact. If one wants something bad enough, they'll find a way.

What's wrong with putting in some effort? Getting an I.D. isn't the impossible task.

So while I can see the need for added security... let's not forget the underpriveleged voters and provide them some better mechanisms to help them get valid photo ID's.
as a general rule people who dont have any solid form of ID dont have the education to even know who the president is or what he believes...

and voting should be harder not easier. period.

If people aren't willing to make a certain minimal effort to vote, then they should forfeit the right to.

Easy for you to say when you aren't the one having to make any effort and be a nuisance to other people for something non-essential.

Maybe we should go back to just allowing landowners to vote? That would make yall happy?

This will make it more difficult to vote several times in several places.

Welfare world

I have no sympathy. They can get a ride and All the papers and ID to get Social Security
Food stamps.WIC or whatever for mothers
Disability checks
Unemployment checks.

No problem getting ID for paperwork for handouts.

The presenting problem is the Democrats are scared. ACORN got into vote fraud and many people voted early and often. Dems are afraid they will lose.

We have run out of gravy for the gravy train.
