I think Dave is a 5-point Calvinist correct me if I am wrong Dave? Thus unconditional eternal security is included.

Depends what definition one assigns to it.

Bump for my Lutheran friend Adino.

Let me put it this way. Since Jesus fulfilled the Law, at what point was the sins of Israel pushed forward? Was it when the lamb was slain? Was it when the blood was placed upon the giver of the sacrifice? Was it when the scape goat was let go? Was it when the blood was offered in the Holies of Holies?
also, does remission of sins = being born again?

I believe Israel's sins were pushed forward when the blood was splattered on the mercyseat.
Remission of sins is not equated with new birth. It allows FOR new birth to occur, though. By actually experiencing Spirit baptism causes new birth to occur. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Also, by the Spirit we are able to cry Abba, Father. I believe this refers to Spirit baptism.

I don't believe that a truly regenerated person will remain in their sins and that saved will show evidence of salvation. I don't believe in the thinking that, "I'm saved so I can live the way I want", like many of the baptists do.
